The much-anticipated second edition of Nariyal Paani is set for the weekend of 21 and 22 January 2017, and it promises to be magical. And, if you want a preview, drop whatever you’re doing this Saturday (17 December) and join us as we gear up for a musical weekend with Zoya, Your Chin and Sandunes.
Nariyal Paani — the festival by the sea — at Alibaug is all set to kick off. Known for bringing together an exciting line-up of Indian and international independent artists, the event seeks to reinvent genres and expand the definition of music.
This Saturday (17 December), get a sneak-peek into the revelry that awaits in January — the pre-gig at the spectacular Tomoe Villa in Alibaug — laze around the pool, guzzle pints of beer and eat delicious treats from Woodside Inn. And if you want a break from all of this, sit back, relax, let a stellar soundtrack nestle you into the lap of idyllic seaside — the waves crashing in, coconut trees swaying gently and blue skies.
Raxit Tewari, indie band Sky Rabbit’s front man’s affinity for bringing myriad sounds together culminated in Your Chin — a solo project that has garnered a dedicated fan base and rave reviews from music critics. Your Chin’s muddy beats, electronic riffs, drum loops set to lyrics about the urban life are a fresh and fantastic.
Listen to the band:
Zoya offers an experience of music unlike others — in her electronica, there is robust harmony and by mashing up instruments. She creates songs that are intense, different and music that consciously transcends physical borders — destroying the very notions of ‘us and them’ in the process.
Listen to Zoya:
Sanaya Ardeshir’s music is mid-tempo electronica with sprinkles of glitch here and there. She calls her music as “post-dubstep, future garage”.
Listen to Sandunes:
