A 21-year-old girl has claimed that she was kidnapped by two people on Wednesday while she was walking towards an ATM to withdraw cash in Gurgaon. They then drugged her, took her to a friend’s rented accommodation in south-west Delhi’s Hari Nagar area, and raped her, she has alleged. The girl injured herself critically when she jumped off the terrace while trying to escape and fell down the building’s shaft.
Accused Sunil and Himmat have been arrested. According to the complainant, the two abducted her in a private taxi and took her to the residence of one Nitin, who was not present in the house at the time. The victim said that she realised she had been sexually assaulted only after she regained her consciousness.
The complainant further said that Sunil had locked the house from outside and left for some work. While the girl was trying to escape, Himmat got hold of her and both of them fell down the shaft in the ensuing scuffle.
The locals heard the noise and rushed to the shaft to find the two lying there injured. They immediately made a PCR call and rushed the two to hospital. The girl sustained severe back injuries. Initially she was taken to the DDU Hospital, from where she was referred to the Safdarjung Hospital, where her condition has been reported to be stable. When Himmat returned to the house, the neighbours informed him about the incident.
Meanwhile, the girl told the police that she was abducted, drugged and raped, following which a medical examination was conducted and the accused were arrested.
The accused, however, denied all charges and told the interrogators that they were acquainted to the girl. They further claimed that Sunil had gone out to get some food while Himmat and the girl were having liquor. The duo was standing near the window when they lost balance and fell down the shaft, they stated.
It has also come to the fore that Sunil’s cars were formerly hired by Uber. Himmat belongs to Mahendragarh in Haryana and had come to Delhi 15-20 days ago to work with Sunil. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at the Dwarka (north) police station.
