To the joy of cinephiles who enjoy both Bollywood and Hollywood films, several posters of upcoming films have been released, which hint at what we can look forward to and when these movies will be releasing.
Ittefaq is a thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna, based on the 1969’s Yash Chopra film of the same name, which starred Rajesh Khanna and Nanda. The premise of the film revolves around two murders, two suspects and the two different versions of their stories. It is slated to release on 3 November this year.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey, who made A Wednesday, this crime-drama features Manoj Bajpayee in the role of an army officer, while Sidharth Malhotra essays the role of Bajpayee’s protege. Rakul Preet Singh plays Malhotra’s romantic interest in the film.
Initially, Aiyaary was supposed to be released on the Republic Day weekend next year along with Rajinikanth’s 2.0. But on 11 October, the makers of the film felt it was wise to avoid a clash with a Rajini-starrer and hence postponed it to 9 February, 2018.
Disney’s Aladdin is all set to come to the stage in the Broadway format. It will reportedly feature all the popular songs from the Disney film, as well as new music written by Oscar awardee Alan Menken, with lyrics penned by the legendary songwriters of the likes of Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and author Chad Beguelin.
Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, Aladdin has been rated as a “musical comedy wish fulfillment” by the New York Magazine for its inimitable set design, costumes and lighting.
