A US-Bangla Airlines plane carrying 67 passengers crash landed after catching fire at Nepal’s international airport, officials said.

The plane skidded off the runway while landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport. The plane caught fire after it careened off the runway during landing and crashed onto a football ground near the airport, the TIA spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur was quoted as saying by the Kathmandu Post. The aircraft took off from Dhaka. – PTI

Bangladeshi passenger plane crashes near Kathmandu airport: Official

A Bangladesh airline passenger aircraft crashed while descending at Nepal’s Kathmandu airport on Monday, an airport official said.

It was not immediately known how many passengers were on board the plane which caught fire. The plane belonged to US-Bangla, a Bangladeshi airline, Kathmandu Post reported. “We are trying to bring the fire under control. Details are awaited,” airport spokesman Birendra Prasad Shrestha said.
