India update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a video message on Friday at 9 am, speaking to the nation under lockdown for three weeks to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Modi in his video-conference with chief ministers called for staggered movement of people after the lockdown. “It can’t be business as usual, safeguards will have to be taken” Modi said. 
Coronavirus pandemic has infected at least 2,069 people and caused 53 deaths in India, according to the latest health ministry update. Iinfections are nearing one million around the world.
