Soldier lacking in Kulgam can even fair had been kidnapped by militants, says military; burnt automobile retrieved


Fresh Delhi: A territorial Navy personnel has gone lacking and his automobile used to be realized burnt in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, officers mentioned on Monday.

Rifleman Shakir Manzoor used to be piece of the 162 Battalion had gone dwelling to Shopian on leave. It is suspected that he has been kidnapped by terrorists, the military mentioned.

Tweeting below the hashtag #TerrorismFreeKashmir, the military mentioned: “Rifleman Shakir Manzoor of 162 Battalion (TA), is lacking since 5 pm the earlier day. His abandoned burnt car has been realized end to Kulgam. It is suspected that the soldier has been kidnapped by terrorists. Search op in development.”

The burnt automobile, registered in the name of Manzoor, used to be realized from Rambhama negate of neighbouring Kulgam district.

The officers mentioned Manzoor serves in the Territorial Navy and would possibly maybe fair no longer be contacted.

They suspect that he would possibly maybe need been kidnapped by militants, adding that efforts had been on to hint him.

A search is on for him across Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag districts. The police are using drones and sniffer canines, sources mentioned.
