Indian Wrestler Sakshi Malik has written to Top Minister Narendra Modi asking what medal she would must always bring to receive the prestigious Arjuna award, a day after the Sports Ministry determined against bestowing the award on broken-down Khel Ratna winners Sakshi Malik and Mirabai Chanu.

In 2016, Sakshi won the Khel Ratna for her bronze in Rio Olympics. She has also won Padma Shri, fourth most sensible seemingly civilian award of India.

Asking if she would ever receive the award in her profession, Sakshi wrote a letter to PM Modi and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, The Indian Explicit reported.

“I’m proud to had been conferred with the Khel Ratna. Each sportsperson needs of winning all the awards. A sportsperson places her life at possibility for it. I also dream of seeing Arjuna award winner against my title,” the 27-365 days-outdated wrestler wrote.

“What extra medal attain I get for the nation that I be honoured with the Arjuna award. Or in this wrestling life, I would possibly maybe on no account have the trusty success of winning this award?” Sakshi wrote.

Sakshi won gold on the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in 2017, moreover to a silver on the Asian Wrestling Championship in New Delhi. She will be a recipient of a bronze on the 2018 Commonwealth Video games in Gold Stride.
