Contemporary Delhi: Police contain bought prosecution sanction from the Arvind Kejriwal authorities against Umar Khalid, a passe JNU pupil chief, in connection with a case connected to the February communal violence in northeast Delhi, officers acknowledged on Friday.
“We now contain given prosecution sanction within the entire Delhi riots connected cases registered by the police. Now, it is as a lot as the courts to perceive who are the accused,” a senior Delhi authorities functionary acknowledged.
The sanction has been bought against Khalid within the Delhi riots conspiracy case, by which he turned into booked beneath the stringent anti-dread Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
A senior police officer acknowledged that police contain bought prosecution sanction from both the Delhi authorities and the Union Residence Ministry against Khalid in connection with Delhi riots conspiracy case.
“We now contain bought prosecution sanction against Umar Khalid in connection with a case registered against him beneath the UAPA. We now contain bought sanctions from both the Delhi authorities and the Ministry of Residence Affairs, the officer acknowledged.
The officer acknowledged that the prosecution sanctions against Khalid had been bought a fortnight ago and added that the Delhi Police can now title Khalid in their supplementary mark sheet.
“To prosecute one beneath part 13 of the UAPA, we prefer sanction from the Ministry of Residence Affairs, which we have already bought. For prosecution beneath part —16,17 and 18 of the UAPA, we have bought sanction from the Delhi authorities,” the officer acknowledged.
Khalid turned into arrested on 13 September beneath the UAPA act in a case connected to communal violence in northeast Delhi.
