Jammu and Kashmir DDC polls: Over 41% voter turnout till 1 pm in fourth piece of election

Jammu: Over 41 percent voter turnout became recorded till 1 pm within the fourth piece of District Building Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials acknowledged.

As per the figures given by the place of job of Remark Election Commissioner, in Kashmir division, Kupwara recorded a vote casting percentage of 28.77, Bandipora 44.82, Baramulla 37.40, Ganderbal 43.45, Budgam 36.36, Pulwama 5.66, Shopian 1.76, Kulgam 6.59 and Anantnag 23.63 till 1 pm.

In the same arrangement, in Jammu division, Kishtwar recorded 59.29 percent polling till 1 pm, Doda 67.86 percent, Udhampur 48.24 percent, Ramban 61.50 percent, Reasi 49.30 percent, Kathua 54.23 percent, Samba 59.64 percent, Jammu 62.71 percent, Rajouri 65.49 percent and Poonch 59.15 percent.

Kashmir division recorded an overall polling percentage of 25.54, whereas Jammu division recorded 59.38 till 1 pm.

The voter turnout within the Union Territory became recorded at 41.94 percent till 1 pm, the officials acknowledged.

The polling for 34 DDC seats — 17 in Kashmir division and 17 in Jammu division — started at 7 am nonetheless the turnout became much less at polling stations within the Valley due to the biting chilly, they acknowledged.
