BJP workers and journalists fell into Srinagar’s Dal Lake as a shikara capsized on Sunday during a campaign for the continuing District Construction Council elections, in step with loads of media reports.
The shikara capsized when it was once closing on the monetary institution of the lake within the final leg of the rally, reported files agency PTI. The BJP workers and journalists were rescued by locals, Whisper Hassle Response Power (SDRF) personnel, and police.
BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain instructed NDTV that all people on the shikara was once real. “There were many mediapersons on the boat. Fortunately all people is real. It was once a extremely appropriate rally at Dal Lake. The boat capsized when it reached the shore,” Hussain instructed the channel. As per the NDTV document, these rescued encompass not not up to four BJP leaders and loads of camerapersons.
Hussain and Tarun Chug were also present within the shikara rally led by Union minister Anurag Thakur, who is the BJP’s in-price for DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident came about on a day when polling for the sixth fragment of the DDC polls was once held in 31 DDC constituencies — 14 in Kashmir Division and 17 in Jammu Division.
The DDC polls, which can be being held along with by-elections to panchayats, is the first democratic say in Jammu and Kashmir because it was once reorganized as a Union Territory final year.
