OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro get Bitmoji Always on Display D support with the latest update

The OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro are receiving a stable version of the OxygenOS 11.2.8.8 update with a camera and system improvements. The update is rolling out in India currently, with Europe and North America to follow suit next. As is the norm, the update will be released in a phased manner.

According to the official changelog, the latest update bumps up the security patches to July 2021, and adds the Bitmoji AOD option designed in collaboration with Snapchat. It also fixes some known issues and improves stability.

Here is the OxygenOS 11.2.1.1 OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro update’s changelog:

Camera
Optimized video filming fluidity
Optimized the noise and white balance issues with the rear camera
Optimized the rear camera’s nighttime brightness and highlight control

Improved the stability of telecommunication functions
Improved the WLAN transmission performance and stability

The Bitmoji avatar will change throughout the day based on your activity and things happening around you. It can enable this feature by navigating to Settings > Customisation > Clock on ambient display > Bitmoji.

The update also brings the OnePlus Store app. FYI, the OnePlus Store was first launched back in April in North America. Now, it is also arriving for users in India and Europe. The downside of this new additional app is that you won’t be able to uninstall it.

On the other hand, the new update for OnePlus 8T arrives as OxygenOS 11.0.9.9. It is being rolled out in North American and Europe with the following build numbers. As per the official changelog, this incremental update brings fixes for Nightscape mode and some known issues. It also improves system stability and adds the uninstallable OnePlus Store app.

The software updates will be gradually rolled out to users, so you may not see a notification regarding it just yet. You can also manually check for it by going to Settings > System > System updates.

OnePlus launched their flagship smartphone for 2021, the OnePlus 9 series phone earlier this year. Recently, OnePlus also officially announced that it is merging with its parent company, Oppo.

OnePlus says this merger will help them in so many ways, one of which is to provide faster updates for its devices.
